Help your child cut the yarn
Its No Accident. In Less Than A Week, I Can Show You How To Get Time For Yourself. One of the most difficult stages of raising a young child is from 18 months to 3 years old. During this time, it can feel like there is a ball and chain connecting you to your child. It can feel like you are under your childs control. Your child seems to be dictating your every move, and actively restricting your movements.Clingy toddlers translate to exhausted parents. During this phase, you may experience guilt, frustration, and sometimes anger because you want to break away from your child so you can breathe.Let us look at this clingy behavior through my 5-Step System.Step 1. ConnectI know when you have a clingy toddler, it seems like you are over-connected. However, the steps in this system are the same for every age and in every situation. With a young child, connecting means trying to put ourselves in their shoes. From your childs perspective of what is happening between you, once they are walking there is an abrupt change and life becomes scary. While your child was still crawling, you were right there so when they cried; you would pick them up and carry them with you.As soon as a child starts walking, they are physically separate from you. In the transition from womb to birth, we know that children find great comfort in swaddling, which is very much like being in the womb From the stage between swaddling to crawling, you are holding and carrying your child From crawling to walking, life becomes more demanding and challenging The physical separation can create feelings of panic and isolation for your childAll eyes on mum or dadWhen your child starts walking, they look to you as their reference point to the world and their anchor of safety so they do not get lost. You are, in effect their GPS, global positioning system. Through your eyes, a brief separation seems small; from your childs eyes, the separation seems insurmountable at times. If your child cannot see you, they feel they are lost.Toddlers send out honing signals and protest separation. You child may cling to your legs, throw themselves against the bathroom door, yell, whimper with tears streaming down their little cheeks and arms outstretched, or plead with you not to leave them. Your child has not yet developed object constancy, a developmental stage when they know you exist even though they cannot see you. Until your toddler achieves object constancy, they feel if they cannot see you, that you are gone; they are lost and alone in the world.Step 2. CalmYour child is in a panic about the separation. For them to calm their panic, you need to remain calm. Remember, emotions are contagious, if you are calm and confident your child will calm more quickly and feel more confident. If you are hyper-excited, your child will quickly catch your hyper-excitement and become overly reactive.Step 3. ListenYou need to listen to your childs protest about separation. The way your toddler knows you are listening, is that you respond to their distress by preparing them for the separation. In my clinical practice, I teach parents to play a revised version of the game peek-a-boo.Peek-A-Boo Tie one end of a strand of yarn around your waist and the other end around your childs waist Have your child leave by going behind a wall where you cannot see them and they cannot see you for a second Quickly return into sight Giggle with excitement when you find each other Extend the time you are out of each others sight Extend the distance between you and your child Move down a hall, behind the wall and quickly come back Always express delight when you see each other again When out of sight, say aloud, Where oh where is Scott, I wonder where Scott went; he was here a moment ago. I know last time he went around the corner, he came back, I wonder how long it will take this time before I see him again? This practice helps the two of you play out separation while still connected by the strand of yarn. You create a fun game in which your child can feel safe. With this game, your child begins to understand that you can be gone and you do come back. When all is going well, you can move to the final stages. Help your child cut the yarn but let the yarn drag on the floor; dont remove it yet Continue playing the game with the strand of yarn dragging on the ground Keep the game short and fun Later, start playing the game without
Twisting Yarn If your child resists, go back to leaving a strand of yarn on each of you until your child not longer needs itRemember, In order to get from what was to what will be, you must go through what isAs with all new skills and changes in behavior, persistence is an essential tool.Replace yourself to get a breatherAfter your child is comfortable playing the peek-a-boo game, you may start giving your child a transitional object. Give your child a scarf of yours (it smells like you) to learn how to fold Practice folding the scarf before you go off to the shower Soon your child becomes confident about folding the scarf (one or two folds is enough) Excitedly tell your child what a good job, he or she did folding the scarf Bring extra scarves for your child to fold while you are in the bathroom Practice, going in and coming out quickly, then for longer times Excitedly tell your child what a good job, he or she did folding the scarfNotice that the focus is on your childs accomplishment, not on your leaving. You left your child with a task, you are a part of the task and you appreciate the effort your child put into learning to fold. You may choose a project of building something or arranging cards, anything that takes some concentration and physical effort. When you do this, you have listened to and addressed the physical separation by giving your toddler a way to connect, without you remaining in the same room.Step 4. LimitsYour goal is to help your child face their fears without overwhelming them. This is a developmental stage that you can make easier and less threatening. The limit you were setting in the peek-a-boo game is; I stay here and you go away, you stay here and I go away. The peek-a-boo game helps make separation fun. Remember when setting the limits Stay out of power struggles by focusing on something fun You want the limits to be achievable without inducing panicFinding the activity that is uniquely satisfying for your child may take some trial and error. If you are calm and confident, you communicate that emotion and the limit will become a built in part of your childs growing mastery of the world. Over time, you will provide choices of activities. Your child learns they get to have control by making a choice based on two options you have provided for what to do while you are gone Giving options gives your child control You are involved and connected because you are the one providing optionsStep 5. Fresh StartWhenever you get out of the bathroom, or arrive home from a short absence, no matter how difficult the separation process was for your child, reinforce your toddlers growth and development with interest in what they did while you were absent. Forget any difficulty during your leaving process. You provide a fresh start. Praise and recognize your childs effort Spend a little quality time with your child each time you returnWhenever your childs resources are challenged, point out and comment on your childs success. Fresh Starts are essential. Your child is learning mastery of their world without you as their honing device for a few minutes. There is no judgment of your child with good boy or bad boy.Encouraging growth requires recognition for whatever effort you toddler made to cope with the stress of separation. The good job is recognition for whatever they accomplished on their project. Wow, look at what you made. You want to reinforce your toddlers efforts to grow and manage distressing feelings. This trying developmental phase is the beginning of teaching good problem solving to your child.

Moulded glass is easy enough to comprehend
Glassware can be defined as any container or tableware made of glass. However, in todays loose definition of the word, glassware has become synonymous with drinking vessels made of glass although it really encompasses a whole range of beverage glasses, pitchers, glass plates and platters and even decorative items made of glass. For most of us, a glass is a glass. However, there are different kinds of glassware according to production, material and usage. Glassware can be blown, moulded, cut or pressed.Blown glass was introduced by the Phoenicians in 50 B.C. The technique calls for inflating (blowing) molten glass into a bubble through a blowpipe. A gafter or glassblower does the blowing and the glass is formed. The art survived and thrived. Manual blown glass might not be a popular way to make drinking glasses today but an art form evolved out of the process. Moulded glass is easy enough to comprehend. The process involves pouring molten glass into a
box mould. Pressed glass is a variation where molten glass is pressed into a mould with the help of a plunger. Cut glass involves two procedures blowing and cutting. The glass is first blown into its desired shape. The glass vehicle, usually a bowl or a goblet, is thick to allow for the cutting of facets. The facets are usually done in simple or complicated patterns.Glassware can be made of different materials. Typically, glassware is made of silica, soda ash, dolomite, limestone and salt cake. Glassware is fragile and can be easily damaged by even the lightest bump or impact. However, there is glassware that is quite durable because it went through a process of glass lamination. The lamination thermally bonds two clear layers of glass to a core layer. This process results in durable glassware that does not easily break, crack or chip. When lead is added to glassware, crystal is produced. Fine crystal is a sought-after type of glassware as it is beautiful and durable. There are heat-resistant glassware too that are very practical to use. This type of glassware was treated to be able to withstand high temperature. However, they are susceptible to breaking too when exposed to extreme changes in temperature. It is usual to see four general types of drinking glasses in most glassware retail stores barware, everyday drinking glasses, stemware and tumbler. Under barware is a list of the varied types of glassware used for alcoholic beverages beer mug, shot glass, sherry glass, high ball glass, Collins glass and other stemmed glasses used for wines and champagne. Tumbler is any flat-bottomed glass drinking vessel usually used for iced tea or fruit juices. A water glass and a shot glass also fall under the tumbler category. Everyday drinking glasses are also termed drinkware or beverageware. Stemware is any drinking vessel with a stem though the term usually refers to glass and crystals. Plastic, metals and even stone drinking vessels with a stem are also called stemware.

The warp yarns to create face pile.
Area rugs were originally considered to be valued property, this was made clear in literature from 6th century Persia. The variety of different styles, patterns, unique designs and detail work put into creating them, would determine there value. The hand-knotted rugs is one of the more highly priced, and it is also the most popular styles of weaving today. It is current spreading throughout the Orient, making Persia one of the larges manufacture of area rugs.Coincidentally hand-knotted rugs was one of the last styles of weaving to come about, there are a number of different style and patterns of area rugs. Many of the different styles, patterns and technique use to create them will be discuss in the following paragraphs. Area rugs designing styles such as, handmade, machine made, pile weave, flat weave, hand tufted, hand hooked and so on.Handmade - Handmade rugs, use three major techniques when the are being created, flat weave, pile weave and hand-tufted. Handmade is sometime referred to as hand knotted, has a custom-created unique design, with a skillful use of color combined with exceptional details. The creator would make their own natural dyes and add details that would represent there own communities and home town distinctiveness.Hand Tufted - Hand tufted are created without knots in the foundation, the height is determined by the amount of
Air Textured Yarn that gets trimmed. This process goes a lot quicker than the hand knot method, but it requires a lot more creativity and attention to detail. It is also more affordable than hand-knotted and is able to with stand foot traffic for years.Pile Weave - These rugs are created on weaving loom machine that ties knots to create the pattern. The different weaving groups use a diverse types of knots, and every single one is tied by hand, and can include anywhere from 25 to 1000 knots per square inch.Flat Weave - This is where the knots are created on a surface that use flat warp, the strands are used as the foundation as well as weft strands used in the foundation and also in the patterns.WarpIs a vertical strands of fiber that stretches from the top end to the bottom end of the rug, knots are tied to the warp yarns to create face pile.WeftThe horizontal threads interlaced through the warp in a woven fabric.Asymmetrical and Symmetrical Knot - These knots are used mainly in Iran, India, Egypt and China, yarn that wrapped around one warp strand and then passed under the nearest warp strand. This is the brought back to the surface creating a finer weave usually used in Turkey.Knot Density - It is created by tying knots on to the warp strands, two prime types of knots, asymmetrical and symmetrical. The density depends on the number of knots per square inch, also referred to as KPSI or the square decimeter in a handmade rug. It is measured in the imperial system in square inches and in the metric system in square decimeters. KPSI is sometimes used to point out the value, the higher the number of knots per square inch, the higher the quality, the more expensive it is.Tibetan Knot - Tibetan Knot is another type of rug-weaving technique now used in other countries along with Tibet. A temporary rod is put in front of the warp, this is to verify the length of the pile. An unbroken yarn is looped around two warps and then once around the rod. Then when a row of loops is finished, the loops are cut to create the pile, producing a slightly ridged surface.Hand Hooked - This rug-making yarn is insert into a backing with a hand held single-needle or tufting tool. The machine is often called a "gun", the rug's pattern are stenciled on the initial backing material. The tufting is then completed, and the backing is attached to protect and anchor the stitches. The pile of a hand hooked rug is made up of loops, where as a hand tufted has a cut pile surface. Rugs sometimes may combine the cut and loop method, this has a total cut pile appearance.Machine Tufting - Machine tufting is some what similar to the hand tufted technique and was developed in the United States. The yarn ends are placed into a backing some what similar to a sewing machine and is equipped with hundreds of needles. These tufting machinery are usually 12 or 15 feet wide, and it is used to make most of the rugs in the U.S. that are tufted. However most of the machine tufted rugs are distributed all over from numerous different commercial manufactures today.

Now slide the hooked yarn
There is some conjecture over the origins of Crochet. Some believe that is was started in the Far East, The Middle East or countries in South America. The reason for this belief is only down to historians believing this to be the case. After all there doesnt seem to be any physical evidence of Crochet for example in the form of a Crochet hook. The historians try to explain this away by saying that early forms of Crochet were fashioned using just a bent finger! Im not sure you could keep that up for any length of time.Crochet became more popular in 1800 in countries like America and Britain. This was due to the fact that cotton prices were dropping and it was easier to produce crochet products as opposed to their lace counterparts.Obviously with prices dropping, factory owners looked at other ways to make money and this would result in the crochet workers earning very little. This in turn led some of the workers to a life of prostitution. In Ireland and France the crochet industry was thriving. Families made and sold products for money, mainly to the more affluent middle class. Unfortunately a crochet product became synonymous with common folk as it was viewed as a cheap cousin compared to lace. However some members of the higher classes bucked this idea. Even Queen Victoria learnt how to crochet. Now we fast forward to the 1900s where the hooks were now being made of more durable materials and arts and crafts were becoming more main stream. Mothers and daughters would spend their free time designing and making a whole array of crochet items. From blankets to place mats.Nowadays there exists a whole range of different coloured threads, cottons and hooks to help any would-be crochet expert learn how to do it.It is generally agreed that the first technique anyone should learn is how to make a pattern row and to be able to perform single stitch crocheting.1) The equipment you need to start with may consist of:a. Size G Crochet Hookb. Small scissorsc. Worsted-weight yarn in what colour you choosed. Large eyed yarn needle2) Create a slipped knot on the hook.3) Now slide the hooked yarn to the slipknot of the hook. This will create a chain of stitches. Now bring back the
Twisting Yarn to the top of the hook and make the thread go into the hook and then grab the slip knot of the hook.4) By passing on the first chain stitch allows the knot to be hooked securely on the knot of the thread. By doing this will hold the thread in place and it will not become loose. The tighter the knot the easier it is to create a chain stitch.5) Insert the hook in the hole of the next chain stitch and pass the yarn through the centre of the 2nd chain stitch going to the upper part of the hook. You should have created 2 loops on the hook now.6) Bring the yarn from back to front and slide the knot between the loops.7) From the second loop create another chain stitch to make an anti clockwise loop. This keeps the hook in the chain stitches and allows you to create rows using the loops from previous rows.
You have to create a single crochet stitch in the first loop. Make sure it is tight before moving to the following loop and it is imperative to create the hook on the last stitch or the stitches wont hold their places.Your job is nearly finished. Now cut off the excess but make sure you have 6 inches of thread on the last chain stitch. This allows you to slide the hook up to the upper parts of the loops to bring it down to the last loops. This may seem really hard when you first try, but as they say; practice makes perfect!

Hold the yarn under the burlap
Rugs are truly one great invention that is up to now appreciated by all people from all races because it can totally cope to whatever country you bring it. After all most of the countries have their own share of rugs to be proud of. Rug hooking became popular in the 1850s, according to Red Clover Rugs. The original tool used to make hooked rugs is a hook tool similar to the one used in crochet. Advances in rug hooking have created newer and faster tools such as the punch needle and speed hook. Red Clover Rugs also mentions the difference between rug hooking and latch hooking. Latch hooking is slightly different in that it uses a hinged hook to tie short pre-cut strips of yarn to the fabric backing. Deanne Fitzpatrick of Hooking Rugs wrote in an article for Artists Loft that while rug hooking is still a craft, it is also developing into an art. To start doing it you will have to draw your pattern onto a piece of burlap if you do not have pre-patterned burlap. Keep the portion you are working on as tight as possible with an embroidery hoop. The tighter it is, the easier it will be to hook the wool through.Obtain as much wool
Carpet Yarn as you will need to complete the project to ensure color consistency. Hold the yarn under the burlap and push the hook through a hole in the burlap. Pull up the yarn end through the same entry hole in the fabric. Every second or third hole, use the hook to pull the yarn through to make a loop that is 1/4 to 1/3 inch in height. Maintain consistency of height throughout the rug.Hook the end of the yarn through to the front of the burlap and cut it to the same height as the neighboring loops. Continue to follow the pattern until it's done. Sew on black cotton twill tape to the edges to finish the piece. Then you will have to draw your pattern onto the latch hooking material if you do not have one with a pre-printed pattern on it.Obtain as much wool yarn as needed to complete the project. Cut the wool yarn into strips 1/4 to 1/2 inch in length.Make a loop with a strip of yarn and push the latch hook through it. Pass the latch hook through a hole in the latch hook material and bring the hook back up through the neighboring hole. Latch the two ends of the yarn strip and bring the latch hook back out of the entry hole. This will tie the yarn to the material. Then you will have to continue looping and following the pattern until the piece is done. After which you can now truly appreciate how the rug would look like after all it is your design and you will surely find it beautiful and elegant since you have put all your sweat to create such rugs thus you will really be proud.

we obtain a yarn of a higher quality
USA, AL (prHWY.com) January 2, 2013 - USA, Jan 02, 2013 - There are many different fibers that can form a knitting yarn. Cotton is the most popular natural fibre and wool is the most common animal fibre. However, other types of animal fibers are used too, like angora, cashmere and the latest trend in knitting yarns - the alpaca knitting
Twisting Yarn. The alpaca fibers that form a knitting yarn are notable for their strength , which is significantly higher than that in wool fibers, for their softness and, moreover, the alpaca fiber comes in an impressive range of natural colors from white, beige, light brown, dark brown, to black. However, it had been demonstrated that by blending alpaca fiber with wool , we obtain a yarn of a higher quality. When it comes to the knitting yarn composed solely of sheep's wool , we talk of two categories of wool used in knitting yarn: worsted and woolen.Knitting Wool - As for the natural fibers, silk and linen are also used for knitting yarn. Knitting yarn can be also made of synthetic materials, chiefly acrylic. There are all acrylic yarns or acrylic blended with wool. Nylon is another synthetic fibre used in a small quantity in the yarn designed for use in socks as an example. There are many different types of knitting yarns you can find obviously according to quality and price. You want. For example, you can find usual yarns like cotton and wool and then luxury yarns like super merino, pure silk, possum worsted , Hana silk , baby alpaca , zephyr(50% Chinese Tussah Silk and 50% fine Merino wool)Knitting Patterns - You need to know the properties of your knitting yarn because they affect the look and the feel of the garment. Your first point of call & where you can find out a lots of information is by looking at the label, such as the fiber content, weight, type of the knitting yarn, and its suitability for the project you have in mind and naturally how many meters of knitting yarn you have and washing instructions. In most instances however the pattern from which you'll be knitting will identify and/or suggest the best material with which to knit the item. It is also advisable to buy a little more knitting yarn than the pattern requires. Yarn weight is the thickness of the knitting yarn. You will see there is a vast range going from very fine weight or baby weight and chunky yarns as well.
